Took me a bit to find the video, but he's wearing the shirt in this: youtube.com/watch?v=GC-0Cjf7Ns0I personally have no problem with Dave. I understand Max's disdain, but it doesn't really transfer over. Thanks for the extra comments! It seems like the ball is starting to roll on this one. The more, the merrier! I wanted to put up "Smackdown" today, but if I do it'll probably be soon. I've got a few things to get done and not too much time.

Yah! Thanks NES for posting this. Quite a poignant clip as well. . He's a soundbite for the media, nothing more. Give Dave his time to "shape the debate" for the people's viewing pleasure. . .
I'm into the music of Megadeth. Peace Sells . . .just ShredZZ!

Damm...I love reading this. Once again I find myself unable to participate because of being the author. The descriptions and translations are really interesting. I loved all the observations on In The Name OF... Some of it is dead on some of it is a little too deep, but it's all interesting. The main thing that you nailed, without me giving up too much of my own perspective, that it is the main underlying theme for motivation of a cause. And you can tell from my point of view - mostly negative. Also - No More, someone said part 2 to Mask. f**k, am I that obvious? Furthermore, like almost all that me and Darren write, we try not to lyricize anything too far into one particular hole. You know, that ol' "open for interpretation" approach. So a lot of the substance for No More can be applied to many facets in one's life or one's acquaintances. Of course there is a personal side to it, and evidently some of it is glaring, but there are some hook phrases that can be broadcast as vague and that is purely intentional. What's next? Smackdown...? Oh boy, let's see what's going to come out of this one. I bet you'd be surprized to see where I got my inspiration on this controversial piece. Keep it coming! Green. SDG

This is gonna be good }8]
The "Anger Management" phenomena comes to mind. I'm letting this track simmer a bit before I apply my interpretation to it. Stay tuned . ..
Horns up to the Sadudes for checking in as time permits!

SMACKDOWN kinda makes me think about someone trying to have me doing something i don't wanna do and getting his arse kicked. someone trying to get me doing things i don't wanna do, trying to push me too far, trying to brainwash me.
if i'd have to go personal with it, i'd say this is about someone having to deal with a group of persons showing masks and fake feelings who subsequently would try to stab my back.
eventually they'd end up busted.

as for mustaine (o.t. - but what the heck), that guy sickens me. i have been a fan and i have been listening to megadeth, but i really despise him for becoming what he is now. a bitter christian filled with prejudice and full of himself, supporter of right wing politics and always able to turn his back to his audience as soon as the wind changes. and i talked to mrs mustaine about this, even if she seemed a little puzzled about this too, she hated his support of Bush that period and she strongly disagreed to most of his antics.

MrsMustaine may not take kindly to our jabs here Max! LOL no problem at all! I'm his first critic and i dont like what he says and writes and created lately (musically also) and i have no problem to say that. and i talked to mrs mustaine about this, even if she seemed a little puzzled about this too, she hated his support of Bush that period and she strongly disagreed to most of his antics. And i discussed with him once and he told me to go to hell ;D not really lol but well it's true that i discussed with him on his forum in 2001 [back on topic]

About SMACKDOWN: I feel it more like someone that pretends to be a friend but never listen and always think to know everything u feel and think, who u are and where u come from, while he/she knows nothing at all. Those kinda ppl that u would just like to smash at first sight Some intrusive stupid fans? lol

Thanks Mrs M! Right to the heart of the matter. It's always great reading your comments.
I read in a review somewhere for OFB, that this reminded the critic of some World Wrestling Entertainment Pay Per View Anthem .. . Goes to show you how much marketing goes into promoting wrestling and the word/phrase "smackdown" here in the USA.
Then again, SDG could have borrowed from his early childhood days, when the Bay Area Saturday Afternoon TV programming highlighted Pat Patterson, Ted DiBiase, Andre The Giant in the early days of Professional Wrestling.
Naa . . "Smackdown" is about the very music industry critics that don't give credit where credit is due. Its about the major label execs, the producers who are all too quick to dismiss the thrash/death metal genre.
Stand down I'll set you straight Your weak take has no weight No gift to communicate No skill to articulate SMACKDOWN
It's about the Multinational Conglomerates who have consolidated the Major Labels, Radio, and TV Stations, resulting in less windows of opportunity for bands like SADUS to be heard.
What you said can't be undone It was over before you begun You have lost and I have won The record shows - you got run
Yes. There is the Internet, which serves quite well as the great equalizer for established bands to remain in touch with their fanbase. I remember in 2001, I went looking for SADUS CD's to purchase and could not find them anywhere on the Internet or at the Music Stores. It's a new paradigm where someone who heard of SADUS but never had a chance to hear the music can check the "freaks out here at VODB.TK", at Myspace, or on You Tube to see the "Certain Death" Video, or Jason's "Damn Live in Cleveland" bootleg contributions. It's a trip to see fans from around the world uploading video clips of SADUS in Rome, Mexico, Belgium, Seattle!! We now have access to some of SADUS' Discography at Amazon.com, or from Mascot direct.
SADUDES! The SADUS resurgence continues!!! We need to tell Mascot Records, the SADUS Fans want more!!!

I think you've all given great interpretations. I especially liked Joa's music critic thought.
The way I see this is that other people may talk about you, putting you down and saying you've got nothing left to give. But when you step up, when you put what you have on the table, you can look around and realize that they've got nothing to offer. They can't do any better themselves, nor can they show how poorly you've come out. The youth that laughs at the older generation, but is himself more infeebled because he never can amount to what that generation did in their youth.
This may be a poor comparison, but I just got done watching "Rocky Balboa". While it certainly isn't my new favorite movie, I thought it was done fairly well, and much better than the horrid #5. But it's all about the elder coming out to show the newer generation that they may not amount to all that they believe themselves to be, and the younger generation realizing that the older generation is not as lacking as they preach.
Have some soul. Have some pride. Have some integrity.

Smackdown = War Of Words. Intellectual battle of wit. Maybe from someone challenging another with a battle of facts. Who's opinion can stand up and crush the others...? The one who knows more and can come correct and prove their worth and makes the one who only brings weak articulation feel like an ass and makes them melt on the spot in their stupidity. Anyone ever heard of Jim Rome...? Smackdown = Radio sports talk show morphed into a brutal metal arena. So, was I right? Surprized?? SDG
