I agree. Joarel is ripping through this stuff. NEXT SONG!
Last Abide
Flash of light Before your eyes All is deceased Victimized By undecided crimes Maturing fate Wasting life, surpassing time Eradicate Erupt, toxic clouds exterminate Fusion flow Eats the brain Melds decay Lethal dose Feeds disease Depopulates Rotting blood, turning black A violent, noxious death Winds of death Engulf the sphere That no longer lives Entropy Now takes its course Until the end A world gone black, through toxic skies Lay to waste Last abide Upon earth Takes its place

This song makes me think nuclear explosions, but I seem to get that kind of idea a lot, heh. There are parts of the song that I don't really see a purpose to, or I should say I'm not sure of how it would fit into my idea. That idea is that this displays the idea of nuclear attacks and retalliation.
All is deceased Victimized By undecided crimes
This, to me, makes it sound like people are dying for apparently being enemies to some society (such as the attacker), but they really haven't done anything in particular that deserves punishment.
One line that makes me think it's nuclear warfare/retaliation is:
Winds of death Engulf the sphere
Obviously, one nuclear warhead is not going to cover the entire Earth. There has to be a number of explosions happening.
But not everyone is caught by the blast.
Erupt, toxic clouds exterminate Fusion flow Eats the brain Melds decay Lethal dose Feeds disease Depopulates
I've heard some people say that the nuclear blasts are nothing compared to the after effects. At least those who are caught in the explosion die quickly. Those who live in brink cities are caught with a flood of radiation, causing abnormal births (mutations in babies), burns and cancer, and other life threatening/disheartening effects, not to mention death.
Or, as I was just suggesting to Massimo, perhaps while it's still dealing with nuclear items, it hits on the disasterous effects that the ill-treatment of disposing and housing nuclear warheads and radiating chemicals was during the late 80s. Chernobyl was/is no laughing matter.

Now for the "Last Abide"~Abide defined: 1. To wait patiently for; 2. To persevere under, withstand; 3. To accept or submit to; 4. To put with, tolerate. 5. To dwell or sojourn 6. To continue or endure; last. SADUS Lyrics for "Last Abide" are as important TODAY as they were during the "Cold War Era". Nuclear Holocaust is just as possible today. Is this line of discussion meant to support the W's " Orwellian Fear Culture"? f**k NO!
It simply lays bare the truth that corporations, politicians, avarice, greed, self-interest will usher in a catastrophic eventuality. Our Coastal Ports, Nuclear Facilities, Chemical Plants are woefully unprotected. The call in the "Last Abide" is the harbinger to look for here. You have a right to be as f**kING angry TODAY as I did when SADUS unleashed Swallowed in Black back in 88.
There's no political agenda here, just the f**king truth. Here's some of the medical consequences of this eventuality if we do not do something now and demand that our government protect it's citizenry. Acute Radiation Syndrome
- Radiation Emergencies: Background Information for the Public
What We Learn About Radiation Threats from Movies—Fact or Fiction Population Monitoring After a Release of Radioactive Material Acute Radiation Syndrome Radiation Exposure & Unborn Babies Radioactive Isotopes Radiation Measurement Glossary of Radiological Terms
Radiation sickness, known as acute radiation syndrome (ARS), is a serious illness that occurs when the entire body (or most of it) receives a high dose of radiation, usually over a short period of time. Many survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs in the 1940s and many of the firefighters who first responded after the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident in 1986 became ill with ARS.
People exposed to radiation will get ARS only if:
The radiation dose was high (doses from medical procedures such as chest X-rays are too low to cause ARS; however, doses from radiation therapy to treat cancer may be high enough to cause some ARS symptoms), The radiation was penetrating (that is, able to reach internal organs), The person’s entire body, or most of it, received the dose, and The radiation was received in a short time, usually within minutes. The first symptoms of ARS typically are nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. These symptoms will start within minutes to days after the exposure, will last for minutes up to several days, and may come and go. Then the person usually looks and feels healthy for a short time, after which he or she will become sick again with loss of appetite, fatigue, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and possibly even seizures and coma. This seriously ill stage may last from a few hours up to several months.
People with ARS typically also have some skin damage. This damage can start to show within a few hours after exposure and can include swelling, itching, and redness of the skin (like a bad sunburn). There also can be hair loss. As with the other symptoms, the skin may heal for a short time, followed by the return of swelling, itching, and redness days or weeks later. Complete healing of the skin may take from several weeks up to a few years depending on the radiation dose the person’s skin received.
The chance of survival for people with ARS decreases with increasing radiation dose. Most people who do not recover from ARS will die within several months of exposure. The cause of death in most cases is the destruction of the person’s bone marrow, which results in infections and internal bleeding. For the survivors, the recovery process may last from several weeks up to 2 years.
If a radiation emergency occurs that exposes people to high doses of radiation in a short period of time, they should immediately seek medical care from their doctor or local hospital.

The Wake
Living silence, hidden deep Clouded vision, nothing seen Arise above normality Open your eyes so I can see Can't you hear the scream in me? I'm dying for the chance to be No chance for reality To live and reign inside of me Screams of pain Wake of death Relentless reign A precedent The wake of severity is pushing through A kick in the face is overdue Knowing what you believe is right Blind to everything in sight Living terror From within The wake of severity will now Begin I had a vision of non-existence To pass away, ceased to exist Depart this life, become no more Become extinct just like before No The wake you can't evade Time's path is laid Drowning in our fate A droplet of existence I a wave of ignorance On the path of resistance Only to prove our persistence The wake of severity is pushing through A kick in the face is overdue Screams of pain Wake of death
Oooh, I like this one.

This one confuses the hell out of me. I have to admit, I have a few ideas, but none of them seem very suitable.
The first idea is that the Wake deals with split personalities. Or a hidden personality/view/mind inside someone's unconscious. This viewpoint wants to come out, but is unable to because of the outside personality's blindness to its existence.
The second idea stems from later in the song, with the talk of "drowning in our fate". "Our" seems to imply more than one person. To me, the talk of being only a droplet of existence means it's referring to the human race in the grand scheme of life on Earth. However, I cannot connect the first and second ideas.
Perhaps I can more solidly form a theory if Joarel or Max (or anyone) give their thoughts.

I am going to leave The Wake opened to discussion until there is a discussion. Because my mind hasn't been opened and nobody else has said anything about it.

Penta-post. I've re-read "The Wake" a few times and this is what I've settled on in my mind. Not two personalities, as I stated before, but rather an unwanted acceptence of the truth. As a people, the majority have the mindset that things will last. They don't think in terms of the future, but in the moment. However, inside we all have to realize that we really are a droplet of existence. The Wake of Severity is the realization that we aren't eternal. It's a simple concept, but one many people just don't want to believe. However, we all know it deep inside us, that we won't be around forever. Either we'll pass on and the Earth shall be left to recover, or we shall take it all down in one big meltdown. I shall change this to the next song in a day or two, so add something if you'd like, Joarel.

Oh, another post. This time it's for the next song!
In Your Face
You say you got a problem I say you want to die Confusion in your mind Terror solidified Violence indisplaced Fear in its place Tempest, yet blind in haste All right, I'm in your face Hostilities come to war Outbreak, a rush discharged Lash out your fuse is lit Go off, inflict the sick Violence indisplaced Fear in its place Tempest, yet blind in haste All right, I'm in your face Implode to the head Convulsive force of red Adrenaline rushing blast Inflamed fury's past Vindication, justification is done

You guys are tripping... and that is so cool.. When eather me or steve are writing lyrics; we actually try not,, "kinda" to be really to the point.. So that people can pull different ideas out of the song, and apply it to what they want it to be.. well..
You can gather what the whole swallowed in black lp, was the place we where growing up in.. a black world..
let me comment on the song:
THE WAKE
If you look closely.. it is about me.. and Jon and Steve.. And what, and who, we wanted to be in the world.. SADUS>>
We are this tiny little nothing in the music world, and we want to be heard.. We always thought we were a premere metal act, "in our own minds" .. And its about believeing in yourself.. sooner or maybe never; we can bring other people around to our metal ways.. shove it in there heads.. shall we give up! never!
That is "kinda" what i was going for.. at least.. ha..
IN YOUR FACE!!
true story..
I was drinking at the bar in the infamous THE STONE in San Francisco.. Broadway.. and this guy just runs right into me... really hard .. a.... its a metal show? no worries ? I don't know if i said anything to him.. I can't remember.. but he asked me if i had a f**king problem? And i knew by the look in his eyes, there was going to be a problem.. And the rest was history for that mother f**ker.. I didn't wait for the bell>> ding<<,\
and wrote a song about it ... want to hear it ?? here it goes..............d/
