If it's OK with the Sadudes, I can post "Number 1" and "Disolator" somewhere for VODB member's only? It would be great to have confirmation if these tracks are from the Band. Let me know.

Number One and Desolator are from Sadus. Desolator was recorded in 1986 on the DTP Demo and Number One in 1987 from Certain Death Demo. Both of those songs now appear on the (D.T.P demo 1986) cd released in 2003 or 2004 by hammerheart. Cool cd to have by the way......I love it

I thought the Red Demo was from 1994.
Anyway, thanks for that, Joa! Listening to "Number 1" right now, and it's nice!

Special thanks to the Sadudes for bringin it all these years!!!
As d/ mentioned, the tape swap scene was huge back in the day. Some Band's would closely "guard" their demo tapes, to the point where you would have to swear allegiance or fall on your sword before making any copies on cassette. This would often create a demand or mystique, where more fans would go to the keg parties, shows, etc. If you had a track from your "demo" play on KVHS 90.5FM(a non-commercial radio station run by high school kids at Clayton Valley High School, Ca), you were all but assured airplay from 7am to 10pm Monday-Friday if the fans demanded it. Ultimately, the vibe created a life of it's own . . .especially for Band's like SADUS.

HeeHee. Opened a "memory catacomb" on this one!
Let's not forget. Those local "fabled" keg parties back in the day, raised $$$$ for the Bands to "pay to play" at the Clubs in SF, Berkeley, Oakland, Palo Alto, Concord, etc. As a "roadie" for my cousin's band, we were like the "street teams" workin it old school style. The thing I remember when planning these parties was that it had to be a secret until a few days before when you released the "announcement" by word of mouth, some flyers, etc., of who was playing, and where to be. Some of these "parties" got so crazy when 150+ people show up paying $5/head to say they were there. Funny thing was, the Band's barely made it through the first few tracks before the Police raid ensued, breaking up the party, making some arrests, etc. You couldn't do it today that's for sure!

That's because most of us are pansies now and you can't have a cool party if you post about it on Myspace.

Heeheeh . . ;D The Band Room's was where it all went down though. I remember heading up the street every night to check in to see where the new tracks were headed. My cousin's band worked it to where the Lead Singer lived next door to where the Band practiced and the neighbors were bikers, some hippies, and blue collar families were cool with the racket until 9-11pm at night.
There was always a party to be had . . Way too many before the ripe ole age 19 . . .. .
