I just checked out the Symbolic reissue with the pro-prod demos. Steve's basslines are really cool on there, better than the final versions imo

For me there are only a few moments that changed my life, when I first heard Spiritual Healing that was one of them. I remember it vividly. Back in the day when everyone went to rehab, it was the thing to do I guess. I went to an AA convention, I was about 14-15 at the time. Anyway jumping from room to room, "partying" there was this noise coming from a boom box. I had never heard anything like it. I soon forgot about everyone that was in the room and like a moth to a flame I was memorized. That first moment I was in awe, struck suddenly, with a feeling that is rare to have. Wild just f**king wild man.

Yeah, Death is one of the bands that got me into extreme metal and is still one of my favourite ones (along with Sadus, Coroner and some others). The first album I heard was, a bit ironically, their last one - The Sound Of Perseverance, which contained some nice and catchy riffing and twisted drum parts. When I got some money to buy their stuff I chose cassettes with Human and Individual Thought Patterns, and then I became fully possessed! I can't refrain myself from headbanging whenever I listen to Scream Bloody Gore or Leprosy, I can't express how astonishing the stuff from Human and ITP is - it's the same thing as on Sadus records: brutality meets technical death metal and lots of creativity in composing songs. Here's also a photo of my Death collection: to sum up, Death kicks f**king ass! I have all of those, except SBG. Spiritual Healing took me FOREVER to get, I had t order it from Russia haha.

Yesterday was Chuck's birthday. Would have been 41. Damn, still so young!
I still have Leprosy and Spiritual Healing to get. When I told Max I didn't have the latter, he kind of bugged out on me. He couldn't believe I was missing out! I'll get them eventually.

Few weeks ago I bought a really nice thing for all Death collectors - the "Batpized in Blood" bootleg on vinyl, released by Metalized Blood Rec., and according to cultmetal.com it's limited to 300 copies Really killer piece of death metal, it was recorded when Death were touring Europe after releasing their masterpiece "Human"

Death is my favorite band and has been since my senior year in highschool. Every album is great, Schuldiner never f**ked up once. Long live Chuck Schuldiner.
